What you can do
A lot of the things you could at one time only do by visiting the practice in person, or by telephoning us, you can now do online. Not only can this save you a visit or a phone call to the practice, it also means you can do things when we are closed, at a time more convenient to you, from your computer, tablet or phone. For example you can:
- Book or cancel appointments
- Order repeat prescriptions
- See any allergies or adverse reactions to medications you have had
- Read your test results
- View the medical records we hold about you
Here's a video of a patient talking about how online access has helped her.
How you can do it
Registering for online services is easy - it's like registering an account for anything online (e.g. to shop or to sign-up for social media). The only difference is that, because we need to be very careful with your medical data, we must ask you to come in to the practice with photo ID and proof of your address.
Once we have confirmed your identity and asked you to complete a short form with reception, we will provide you with a 'registration token' (i.e. a temporary password) that you will be able to use to set up your account. Upon registration (where you will choose a permenant password) you will then be sent an email as an additional security step from which you can click on a link to activate your account.
The website for registering and using your online account is: https://patient.emisaccess.co.uk
Where you can get help
If you have any queries about making a particular appointment or are having difficulties ordering a medication, please contact the practice in the usual way (e.g. telephone 01865 242657).
If you are having problems using the website there is a very useful help page you can visit at: https://support.patient-access.co.uk/
If you think the website may not be working you can tweet the helpdesk at: @ptaccesshelp
